Dermatologists are medical specialists and Fellows of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Skin Cancer Doctors are general practitioners with additional training in skin cancer and are members of the Skin Cancer College Australasia. Plastic Surgeons are fully qualified surgical specialists and Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

A/Prof Adrian Mar

Dr Adrian Mar is a general dermatologist with experience in the management of inflammatory skin conditions, disorders of the hair and skin cancers.

He was Head of the Department of Dermatology at Monash Health for 18 years and holds the position of Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Monash University. He has a subspecialty interest in the treatment of vitiligo, having co-founded the Vitiligo Clinic at the Skin Health Institute where he is a Visiting Consultant.

A/Prof Amanda Saracino

A/Prof Amanda Saracino is a highly qualified specialist with a strong focus on both academic and clinical dermatology.  Her areas of expertise include treating acne, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis.

Alongside her Fellowship with the Australasian College of Dermatologists, she holds an appointment in the UK as an Associate Professor at University College London, where she completed a PhD in the immunology of inflammatory and sclerotic skin disease.  Amanda leads the Connective Tissue Disease clinic at St Vincent’s Hospital, and is actively involved in research.

Dr Adrienne Lee

Dr Adriene Lee is a dermatologist with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory skin conditions and skin cancers.  She is a Visiting Consultant at St Vincent’s Hospital and the Skin Health Institute.

She assumed her role of President of the College of Dermatologists in May 2023.  Her subspecialty interest is contact dermatitis (skin reactions due to the contact of a substance on the skin) and she oversees patch testing on site for those with possible contact dermatitis.

Dr Brian Hsu

Dr Brian Hsu (MBChB, FRACGP) is a skin cancer doctor and an experienced General Practitioner with over a decade of clinical experience. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Brian Hsu holds a Certificate in Dermatoscopy from the Skin Cancer College Australasia and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Skin Cancer Medicine through The University of Queensland, further advancing his expertise and specialisation in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of skin cancer.

Dr David Burdon-Jones

Dr David Burdon-Jones trained as a dermatologist in Adelaide and holds honorary positions at universities in both Australia and the UK.  

He was a former Chief Examiner for the Australasian College of Dermatologists.  He has a particular interest in the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions in adults, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, blistering disorders, lupus and other autoimmune diseases, and allergic contact dermatitis.

Dr Friyana Bhabha

Dr Friyana Bhabha is a general dermatologist who trained at several major hospitals in Melbourne and Hobart following her basic training as a physician.

She has interests in the management of acne, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema and she is a Visiting Consultant at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

Dr Bhabha performs telehealth consultations through our Digital Dermatology service. 

Dr Kamal Sandhu

Dr Kamal Sandhu is an experienced dermatologist who obtained her initial training in Chandigarh, India, before gaining her Fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.

She has a broad interest in general dermatology including inflammatory and pigmentary skin disorders and skin cancers. She has expertise in the treatment of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating of the skin) and as a Visiting Consultant she runs a clinic for this condition at the Skin Health Institute.

Dr Monica Narula

Dr Monica Narula completed her Doctor of Medicine at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, before obtaining Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

She has completed the Advanced Clinical Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery, and the Certificate of Dermoscopy through the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.  She is passionate about skin cancer education, prevention, detection and treatment.

Dr Nishan Amerasinghe

Dr Nishan Amerasinghe is an experienced dermatologist who received training in Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Australia.

He has a broad interest in general dermatology, including acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, skin cancers, tropical diseases and pigmentary disorders. Dr Amerasinghe is a Visiting Consultant at the Alfred Hospital and the Skin Health Institute, where he contributes his expertise to the Contact Dermatitis Clinic.

Dr Amerasinghe can converse in Sinhala.

Dr Philip Lane

Dr Philip Lane is a well established dermatologist, having previously worked in Brunswick for many years.  

He has extensive experience in the management of skin conditions including acne, eczema and psoriasis, as well as hair and nail disorders and skin cancers.  He is a Visiting Consultant at the Skin Health Institute in Carlton, where he helped to establish the Phototherapy Clinic.

Dr Quynh Le

Dr Quynh Le completed her medical degree with honours at the University of Queensland before training in Victoria to obtain Fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.

She has a broad range of expertise including the treatment of acne, eczema, psoriasis and autoimmune disorders. Dr Le is a Visiting Consultant at Eastern Health and the Skin Health Insitute, where she attends the Advance Targeted Therapies (biologics) Clinic.

Dr Le can converse in Vietnamese.
Dr Le performs telehealth consultations through our Digital Dermatology service.

Mr Damon Thomas

Mr Damon Thomas trained in both New Zealand and Melbourne before receiving Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His clinical practice focuses on skin and aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery, including skin cancer excision, as well as paediatric and adult hand surgery, microsurgery and reconstructive surgery.

Mr Thomas provides services through the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery and has an appointment as a Paediatric Hand and Microvascular Surgeon at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
