Meet the Dermatologists who currently work

at North Western Dermatology.  All are highly qualified specialists

and Fellows of the Australasian College of Dermatologists,

the peak body for the training of doctors who specialise exclusively

in the treatment of skin conditions.

Our clinic offers expertise in the management of acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin allergies, hair and nail problems, excessive sweating, genital rashes, moles and skin cancers, and cosmetic dermatology.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR ADRIAN MAR

Dr Adrian Mar is a general dermatologist with experience in the management of inflammatory skin conditions, disorders of the hair and skin cancers.  He is the Head of the Department of Dermatology at Monash Health and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Monash University. He has a subspecialty interest in the treatment of vitiligo, having co-founded the Vitiligo Clinic at the Skin Health Institute where he is a Visiting Consultant.

DR ADRIENE LEE

Dr Adriene Lee is a dermatologist with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory skin conditions and skin cancers.  She is a Visiting Consultant at St Vincent's Hospital and the Skin Health Institute.  She assumed her role of President of the College of Dermatologists in May 2023.  Her subspecialty interest is contact dermatitis (skin reactions due to the contact of a substance on the skin) and she oversees patch testing on site for those with possible contact dermatitis.

DR KAMAL SANDHU

Dr Kamal Sandhu is an experienced dermatologist who obtained her initial training in Chandigarh, India, before gaining her Fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatogists.  She has a broad interest in general dermatology including inflammatory and pigmentary skin disorders and skin cancers. She has an interest in the treatment of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating of the skin) and as a Visiting Consultant she runs a clinic for this condition at the Skin Health Institute.

DR ADAM SHERIDAN

Dr Adam Sheridan is a dermatologist with a special interest in skin surgery and laser therapy.  He is qualified in the use of Mohs micrographic surgery, an advanced technique for the removal of certain types of skin cancer.  As a director of Phoenix Dermatology he provides expertise in the use of laser and light devices for the treatment of acne scarring, rosacea, photodamage and skin rejuvenation.   He is a Visiting Consultant at the Alfred Hospital and the Skin Health Institute.

DR JACINTA OPIE

Dr Jacinta Opie is a general dermatologist with experience in treating a wide range of skin conditions.  She is a Visiting Consultant at Austin Health and at the Mercy Hospital for Women where she attends the Vulval Diseases Clinic.  As an expert in skin conditions relating to women’s health she provides a welcoming and professional service for her patients.

DR PHILIP LANE

Dr Philip Lane is a well established dermatologist, having previously worked in Brunswick for many years.  He has extensive experience in the management of skin conditions including acne, eczema and psoriasis, as well as hair and nail disorders and skin cancers.  He is a Visiting Consultant at the Skin Health Institute in Carlton, where he helped to establish the Phototherapy Clinic.

DR DAVID BURDON-JONES

Dr David Burdon-Jones trained as a dermatologist in Adelaide and holds honorary positions at universities in both Australia and the UK.  He was a former Chief Examiner for the Australasian College of Dermatologists.  He has a particular interest in the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions in adults, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, blistering disorders, lupus and other autoimmune diseases, and allergic contact dermatitis.

DR FRIYANA BHABHA

Dr Friyana Bhabha is a general dermatologist who trained at several major hospitals in Melbourne and Hobart following her basic training as a physician.  She has interests in the management of acne, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema and as a Visiting Consultant at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre she has expertise in the treatment of all forms of skin cancer.

Dr Bhabha is currently only seeing rural patients via TeleHealth.

DR RACHAEL DAVENPORT

Dr Rachael Davenport is a general dermatologist with expertise in both adult and paediatric dermatology.  She has an interest in the management of eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, urticaria, hyperhidrosis, vulval dermatology, autoimmune conditions and in the treatment of skin cancers.  She is a Visiting Consultant at St Vincent's Hospital, The Northern Hospital, The Royal Hobart Hospital and The Skin Institute.
